- Anthony Hamilton (1646–1720), Irish classical author, of aristocratic Scottish ancestry, who lived in France where he was known as Antoine Hamilton; intimate of French aristocracy, he wrote, in French, Mémoires du comte de Gramont (1704–10)
- Anthony Hamilton (1739–1812), English prelate who served as Archdeacon of London from 1770 to 1775; appointed Archdeacon of Colchester in 1775; married Anne Terrick in 1767; their second son, Anthony, also became Archdeacon
- Anthony Hamilton-Smith, 3rd Baron Colwyn (born 1942), English peer, legislator and dental surgeon; one of ninety hereditary peers, elected to remain in House of Lords after House of Lords Act 1999; CBE in 1989
